Intern Overview

Opportunities within the ministry are diverse and can be crafted to fit the interns needs. You can do an internship anywhere we have staff.  AIA works hard to ensure a good training environment is provided for the growth and development of the intern.  There are many needs at our World Training and Resource Center as well as out in the field on our various campuses.  Our internships fall into two categories.

"Staff" Internships

Our most typical internship is our "staff" internship which is 10 to 12 months in length.  The purpose of this internship is to allow an intern the opportunity to experience "staff life" for one year or maybe even two.  This internship generally begins in August and ends the following summer with one of our Summer Opportunities.  Due to the fact that AIA is a faith-based ministry and has no central funds to pay employee salaries, all of our interns are required to raise their own financial support.

"Academic" Internships

Our "academic" internships allow an intern to gain practical training and experience in an area of study while fulfilling requirements for school and be exposed to the ministry of Athletes in Action.  These internships are typically done at AIA's Headquarters.  These internships are not paid and sometimes a little support can be raised for living expenses and any school expenses (especially if the intern needs to relocate to OH).  The time frame of an acadmic internship varies and can take place any time during the year. 

To apply for an academic internship, please click on the following links to download the application and reference form.  Please identify 3 people (CCC/AIA Staff member, current discipler or spiritual mentor, and peer or roommate) to be your references and email them a copy of the reference form.  Applications and reference forms for an "academic" internship are due two months before the desired start of the internship.

Summer Internship Opportunities

Shorter internships are available during the summer through our Opportunities Office. Use your administrative and leadership skills in a camp, project, or international tour setting while gaining practical experience in evangelism and discipleship. Combine your passion for God and your love of sports to invest in the lives of athletes who are helping to take the Gospel to the world through the platform of sports.
